A little something about us
Al Dente literally means ‘to the tooth’. Used to describe the correct way to cook pasta – soft but still with a bit of bite. Sounds just like our two founders…
Cristian is the brains of the operation. Born and raised in Naples and now a proud Peckhamite, he cut his teeth on a variety of local pizza joints in his hometown. (Pizza was also born in Naples don’t you know.) Mixing his passion for good grub with a good head for customer service, Cris will never be seen without a smile.
Luigi is the muscle to Cris’s brains. Another native Neapolitan, he learned to cook at his Mamma’s knee. And an Italian Mamma ALWAYS knows best. He hasn’t stopped cooking since, in highly rated restaurants from Napoli to Notting Hill. He really knows his onions. Or cipolle as his Mamma would have it.
Al Dente is a result of the passion we share for good, honest Italian food. A touch of Italian flavour in the heart of a passionate city.
